Believe…I Am The Good Shephard
Who is leading your life?
At first glance, that may seem like a strange question. Most of us would like to believe we're fully in control of our own decisions. Yet every day we're influenced by voices, opinions, habits, fears, and desires that shape who we're becoming.
In John 10, Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd.
It's one of the most personal pictures of His relationship with us.
Jesus says He knows His sheep by name. He isn't distant or detached. He knows our strengths, weaknesses, fears, and struggles. He sees the parts of our lives that no one else sees and still chooses to love us.
But Jesus doesn't stop there.
He also says the Good Shepherd lays down His life for His sheep.
Unlike a hired hand who runs when danger comes, Jesus willingly moved toward the cross. He didn't abandon His people when things became difficult. He sacrificed Himself to protect them.
The cross wasn't an accident. It was the ultimate act of love from a Shepherd willing to give everything for His flock.
Jesus also reminds us that sheep learn to recognize the shepherd's voice. That's important because there are countless voices competing for our attention today.
Some voices lead toward fear.
Some lead toward pride.
Some lead toward approval and success.Yet none of those voices can ultimately give us life.
Only Jesus can.
His voice leads toward freedom, peace, purpose, and hope.
The question isn't whether you're being led.
The question is whether you're following the right shepherd.
Jesus knows you completely.
He loves you deeply.
And He can be trusted with the direction of your life.In a world full of competing voices, we don't need more noise.
We need the Good Shepherd.
