Trust God
Have you ever felt like a wild horse, full of energy and potential, but unsure of where to direct it? Maybe you’ve been told to "tame" your wild side, to fit into a mold that just doesn’t feel right. But what if I told you that God doesn’t want to tame you? Instead, He wants to train you to run with purpose. In a recent sermon, we explored the idea of being a maverick—a wild horse that’s not meant to be confined but trained to run with God. This isn’t about losing your individuality; it’s about discovering how your unique traits can be used for something greater. The Bible is full of mavericks—people who didn’t fit the mold but were used by God in incredible ways. Take Moses, for example. He was a leader with a fiery spirit, trained in the desert to lead a nation. Or David, who faced giants with courage and faith. These figures weren’t tamed; they were trained to fulfill their God-given purposes. Trust: The Foundation of Training So, how do we move from running wild to running with purpose? It starts with trust. Trusting God is the first step in this journey. Jeremiah 17:7-8 reminds us that those who trust in the Lord are like trees planted by water, strong and unshakable. When we root ourselves in God, we find the strength to face life’s challenges. But trust doesn’t stop there. It extends to our relationships with others. Building trust with people means being truthful, transparent, and teachable. It’s about being real with ourselves and those around us, creating a community where we can grow together. Practical Steps for the Journey
- Root Yourself in God: Spend time in Scripture and prayer. Let God’s Word be the foundation that keeps you grounded when life gets wild.
- Build Trust in Relationships: Be honest and open with God and those around you. Seek to understand and be understood, creating a space where trust can flourish.
- Embrace Being Trained: Recognize the areas where God is working in your life. Instead of resisting, lean into the training, knowing it’s shaping you for a greater purpose. Whether you’re a believer or someone exploring faith, know that you’re not alone in this journey. We’re all wild horses in some way, but with God’s guidance, we can be trained to run. Embrace your maverick spirit, trust in God and others, and watch as your life transforms into a powerful testimony of faith and adventure.
