Believe…Serve Like Jesus
Most people don't associate greatness with serving.
Our culture often celebrates influence, success, power, and recognition.
Yet Jesus presents a completely different picture.
In John 13, the King of Kings kneels down and begins washing feet.
This wasn't a symbolic gesture. Foot washing was one of the lowest jobs in the household. It was the task assigned to servants.
And Jesus willingly took that place.
Why?
Because true leadership begins with humility.
Before washing their feet, Scripture tells us Jesus knew exactly who He was. He knew where He came from and where He was going.
His confidence wasn't rooted in position or recognition.
It was rooted in His identity.
The same is true for us.
When we understand who we are in Christ, we no longer have to fight for status or prove our worth. We are free to serve others.
Jesus also reminds His disciples that He is both Teacher and Lord.
He isn't simply someone to admire.
He's someone to follow.
And what does He ask us to do?
Serve.
Serve our families.
Serve our church.
Serve our communities.
Serve the people around us.Not because service earns God's love, but because we've already received it.
Jesus showed us that greatness isn't found in being served.
It's found in serving others.
When we follow His example, we become a blessing to the people around us—and discover the joy that comes from living like Jesus.
Because believing in Jesus doesn't just change what we know.
It changes how we live.
